Week 5 Story: Gossip and the Swim Day

Image
Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Tweety and Porky Pig loved the time of year when the sun began to rise a little earlier, stay a little longer, and fall a little later. They all loved this time of year because they knew that Spring was arriving and summer would not be far behind.  Today was the first day that the water down at the spring would finally be warm enough to go for a swim. Everyone was thrilled and could not wait to get down to the spring and beat the rush of people who would join them in the afternoon.  As they began to prepare their day and pack their bags, Daffy Duck began to talk. He asked the group, "Have you guys heard what Sylvester was telling people last night at the movies?" The rest of the gang thought that Daffy Duck was just talking like he always does and wanted to start drama, but they all joined in and replied, "No, what did he say?" "Well, you are not going to believe me. But, he was telling us that you Porky Pig were being cruel to him and ...

Ramayana Reading Notes-Part D

Image
The last part of the reading notes of Ramayana did not disappoint. I really have enjoyed the mini little stories. I tried to focus on what I could do to keep the feel of the small little stories together while at the same time making them longer to be used in my Story book project.  This section, I really focused on the different ways in which dialogue could be introduced and used in my own stories. I feel like sometimes I am just repeating the same things over and over again when I say, he said or she said in my sentences. One story that was able to give me some extra ideas from was 159. Rama Battles Taranisen. This story used emotions throughout their dialogue that I think could be very helpful in making sure the reader is able to understand what the characters are feeling. Adding in feeling is also helpful in being able to hear the characters tone of voice easier. I also was able to recognize sections of stories where there would be around 3-5 little micro stories but they...

Week 4 Review

Image
Week 4 was definitely a crazy week with all the snow we received. I loved having the snow but hate being stuck in the house.  This was my favorite image from our announcement page because I feel like this is me trying to accomplish anything and getting very sidetracked. All I Need To Write from Grant Snider I also enjoyed watching the video: Are Emoticons the Future of Language . This video seemed very relevant due to the fact that today we use so much communication over the internet and by using emoticons and emojis we are able to give some personality to our statements.

Week 4 Story: Jumping the River

Image
One day the Tasmanian Devil took all of the crew down to the river to taunt them. He was especially after Bugs Bunny as usual. "Which one of you can jump across this river to the other side on the first try?" the Tasmanian Devil sneered. "I bet you cannot do it Bugs Bunny, you will surely fall straight in." Daffy Duck was the first to chime in, "I can surely do it if Bugs will not." The Road Runner also declared, "I can most definitely do it." Bugs Bunny was still quiet because he was nervous that the Tasmanian Devil might be right and he did not want to be embarrass himself. Tweety saw that Bugs Bunny was in distress and quickly came to his side to encourage him. "You are the springiest bunny in the whole wide world Bugs Bunny. If anyone can jump across this river it is certainly you! You have to do it so you can prove the Tasmanian Devil wrong or he will just continue to torment you." With all this encouragement, Bugs Bunny began to b...

Ramayana- Reading Notes Part C

Image
This week I focused on finding more stories that I could use to go along with what I have been brainstorming as my topic for a storybook. There were many different stories that already contained animal characters and were able to give me a better feel for how I could use the animal characters in Looney Tunes for these specific stories. #113. Who Will Jump to Lanka? was a story that stuck out because it dealt with a challenge. In this particular tail, many different monkeys are arguing over who can jump over the ocean. I could see this being used with Looney Tunes characters who are bickering over who can accomplish a task better than the rest.  The next to proceeding stories elaborate on the previous. #114 Jambavan Inspires Hanuman and #115 Hanuman Leaps are both set out in a way that I think would be easy to transform into a longer story for my Storybook.  Throughout this section of reading, I saw different individual sets of stories that could make individual longer st...

Looney Tunes Doing a Storybook that mixes together both an Indian Epic and a present day relation we can all make like the Looney Tunes would be a fun project to both work on and read.  There are so many different Looney Tunes characters that it would not be difficult to find switches to be made between the stories. I found a good list of all of these characters and what kind of personalities they possessed here . This week in particular I read Ravana Visits Maricha and Maricha Becomes a Golden Deer. These stories along with others that tie in together had a vibe of trickery which I remember from my many years of watching the Looney Tunes. One interesting twist I thought of was making Bugs Bunny take on the role of Rama. Just like Rama, Bugs Bunny is always trying to be tricked by other characters such as Elmer Fudd and the Tasmanian Devil who both of which could fill the role of Ravana. I think any of the stories I have read so far would be great to mesh in with an old time ...
