Time Strategies

Image
Time Is Precious Time management is definitely something that I am constantly working at and trying to do better with. Learning how to manage our time is an invaluable attribute to our academic and professional futures. Without developing time management and organization skills we will continually set ourselves up for failure. I often have the habit of trying to add something into every minute of my day and then placing procrastination on top of that and I am in trouble.  Reading The Important Habit of Just Starting by Jory Mackay was motivating to me and gave me some encouragement to stop sitting around waiting till the last minute to do work. Learning to just start can be an invaluable habit for me in both work and school.  I also learned a few tips to help combat against this by reading Caroline Webb's  How to Beat Procrastination .  One strategy I use quite often is that of writing checklists because there is something encouraging about being able t...

Technology

Image
Technology is an area I currently am lacking in. However, being online for school over the past year has been a way to help me learn new tips to work more efficiently through technological platforms. This class is also set up in a way that is very easy to follow along and understand all the aspects of the different site we are using. Bookmarking is something that I want to use more this semester so that I am able to go back and find the stories I loved more efficiently.  Computer (from ClipArt Library )

Assignments

I am super excited to be in this class! I was fortunate to take Mythology and Folklore last semester and enjoyed every second of it. This course is very unique and set up in such a way that helps to keep you on track and even allows you to work ahead when you have free time. The extra credit is also a big bonus to the course. Overall, I am also thrilled for this class because it helped to strengthen my writing grately last semester and I cannot wait to see it continue to improve. Studious Woman (from PxHere )

Storybook Favorites

Hanuman and the Naked Philosophers I really enjoyed this story book for many reasons. One of the best parts of this story book too me is the way in which each story came with multiple different pictures. I also enjoyed that the stories contained within this project all carried on with the same sort of themes and used different animals throughout. This particular story book was also engaging to me because of the way it was written in first person from the point of view of a kid on a trip with friends and therefore was somewhat relatable to me and something that I would do with my friends. ( Two Elephants ) Ravana Stories This story book did a good job of adding videos into the project. I had never thought of adding anything to my stories but basic pictures, but the videos made the story book very interactive and engaging. I think a video would be a great way to engage audiences and make them interested in what you have to tell them. The author of this story also made slight change...

Introduction to Me:)

Image
This is me.... (Image Information: personal photo of me; photo from August 2020.) My name is Carlee and I am in my Senior year!! (Super exciting, scary and sad all at the same time) The past three years have flown by and I have no doubt that this one will be the same. Hopefully, it doesn't go too fast, as I am still in the process of figuring out what my life will look like after graduating. I had always been the student in college that took as many classes as possible to try and graduate early until I realized that there was no fun in that. Now I am trying to enjoy my last year, take it as it comes and live in the moment.  Unrelated to school, I enjoy doing a lot of different random things. Thanks to quarantine, I have gone from a place where I could be featured on America's Worst Chefs to an advanced novice (those two words don't really belong together but you get the point) in all things sushi and tacos. I also have a great appreciation for reading and even get made...

Favorite Place

My favorite place is Banff, Canada. I visited here on a road trip with my family in the summer of 2017. While I was here I was fortunate enough to be able to run their annual half marathon. The scenery was surreal and inspiring. I can not wait for the day that I will be able to return to Banff. Moraine Lake- one of the many lakes I ran past
